Conquer your fears, find balance, and thrive at university

What I do!

As a dedicated learning strategist with over two decades of experience, I specialize in guiding students through the pivotal transition from high school to university level study. My expertise lies in individualizing study strategies and learning skills, tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs of each student. I combine industry leading assessments with one-on-one consultations, to create a personalized method that empowers students to excel academically as they navigate the challenges of transitioning to higher education.

How I do it!

Through one-on-one virtual meetings, assessments, check-ins, and evaluations I offer personalized guidance, expert insight, and support, empowering students… to navigate their academic journey confidently. Additionally, I create detailed Learning Plan Reports, both written and recorded, for the student’s future reference, ensuring continuity and clarity in their educational endeavours.

What students can expect!

The first year of university doesn’t have to be one of surprise and ‘trial by fire’. With the right foundation and support, students can enter with their eyes wide open… Working with me, they can expect a tailored and personalized experience, starting with comprehensive assessments to understand their needs and strengths. Through one-on-one virtual meetings, they receive expert guidance and support, addressing their unique situation and concerns directly. Access to valuable resources empowers them to navigate the university transition at their own pace, while detailed reports ensure clarity and continuity in their academic journey. With a focus on individualized attention and support, students are equipped with the tools and insights necessary to thrive in their university experience.

Here's a summary of what the process entails:

Before entering university:

Initial Assessments and Report (Learning Plan Report #1):

Both Learning Plan Reports are provided in written form (with the option of being recorded) for your reference.

Before transitioning from high school to university, a series of assessments and evaluations are conducted to understand your strengths, habits, and challenges relevant to university academic study. Based on this analysis, a comprehensive report is compiled, outlining personalized insights, along with customized solutions and strategies for academic success.

Mid-term Assessment: Midway through your first term at university, a check-in is conducted to see how you are doing, and to give you the opportunity to address with me any concerns you may have.

End-of-term:

Post-Finals Assessment and Second Report (Learning Plan #2):

After completing your finals, a final assessment is conducted to determine your current academic habits, and any additional support needed for the upcoming term. With this updated knowledge, a second report (Learning Plan #2) is prepared, evaluating your learning and study habits and offering tailored strategies for continued success. Both Learning Plan Reports are provided in written form and recorded for your reference.

In essence, this process ensures that you receive ongoing support and guidance throughout your transition to university and academic journey, with personalized insights and strategies tailored to your unique needs and challenges.

What parents can expect!

Parents can expect a collaborative approach where their involvement is valued and respected. During the initial enrolment ‘Discovery Call’, I meet with both parents… and the son/daughter to discuss the student’s transition to university. As students aged 19 or older are considered adults, subsequent meetings are held directly with them to ensure privacy and foster independence. However, I provide general reports to parents, offering insights into their child’s progress within the program, maintaining open lines of communication while respecting the autonomy of the student. Our goal is to uphold transparency and trust, while supporting both students and parents through this important transition period.
